How to Get a Whale in Your School

Project WILD sponsored by the North Dakota Game and Fish Department has several whales teachers can use with students. The whale project is a good way to study endangered animals including some that live in the North Dakota. The plastic whale, two Project WILD books, a binder of activities, and posters will be available free to teachers who will attend a five-hour workshop. Only teachers who attend will be allowed to use the whale. Teachers who have participated in past workshops must still attend a workshop because new activities, lesson plans, and suggestions on how to use the whale with students will be discussed. The workshop or in-service can be offered in several ways to fit the needs of teachers. Short two-hour sessions after school, one evening, or a Saturday are possible options.
