Curriculum Projects

NDWild has been accumulating resources teachers can use in their classrooms. As this collection has grown, it has become possible to organize these resources into projects. These projects are available at this time.

These projects are based on a format called the WebQuest. The idea of a webquest is to provide students with a problem-solving task that requires them to organize and interpret information from Internet resources in order to create a product (a written or multimedia project, class presentation, etc.). I have tried to select tasks that have no "right" answer and require students to think about an issue relevant to North Dakota. If you have comments on this approach, please contact me (Mark Grabe). WebQuests

Bernie Dodge developed WebQuests as a specific strategy for helping students acquire the skills necessary to process Web information. Dodge describes his approach as scaffolded - i.e., providing assistance to ease the burden placed on the learner.
