Should every kid "want to be like Mike?"

Should we try to teach novices to mimic the behavior of experts?

A good part of the chapter involved an analysis of studies that have tried to identify how "experts" perform. If we have some type of model of expert behavior, are these the behaviors novices should try to model? Or, would it be more accurate to suggest that expert behavior works only because people are experts and novices must develop intermediate knowledge and skills before they will be capable of expert-like behavior?
