I feel the need - the need for speed

Here is a situation you may have encountered.

A teacher decides to address two objectives at once. She has been helping her students develop word processing skills. She decides that she will have her students write a required theme at the computer. This proves a difficult task for some students and they write a much poorer paper than normal. These students have been expected to hand in printed papers before, but they would usually write the paper out first by hand and then type it.
