Eye witness issues
You may be familiar with issues related to the testimony eye witnesses sometimes give in court. It appears that sometimes these witnesses describe events in their testimony that did not actually happen. These witnesses are not necessarily purposefully distorting their reports because of some personal motive. So, they recall and report things that did not actually happen. This is not really a memory failure in the sense that the witness is unable to report an experience because the memory for that event is unavailable. They have something to report. What is happening is such circumstances? Do you perceive any educational relevance of the process(s) you describe?
